Microsites are small web pages that open like a pop-up menu when clicked on, with a reduced browser window on top of the originally accessed web page.
The user can navigate through the microsites in their offer. However, the navigation depth of microsites is relatively low. Normally, microsites only open when a banner or other online advertisement is clicked, for example, when a user enters a sweepstakes.
A microsite has its own Uniform Resource Locator( URL) and is often used in online marketing forlead generation and in search engine optimization( SEO).
If microsites are used in SEO, they should be HTML banners, because the search engines capture this better.
