- Morphing is a technique that allows a computer graphic to be transformed into another graphic in several stages. In this image processing technique, one or more motifs can be interwoven and transformed into another motif by changing viewing parameters. Morphing is used in computer animation in commercials, for example, when a head is gradually transformed into a product, and also in entertainment videos, films, science and product design. Morphing can be applied to 2D and 3D graphics to create a continuous transition from one graphic to another. Morphing Procedurally, morphing matches the attributes of two objects. For example, certain geometric objects and points that correspond in both objects, the source object and the target object. Algorithms used determine the intermediate objects over which the target object is created by means of interpolation.
- The term morphing is also used in audio technology. It is the smooth transition between two stored effects. The morphing time can be set and can be up to 30 seconds.
