multi color graphics adapter (MCGA)

The MCGA format (Multi Color Graphics Adapter) is a file format with 8-bitcolor depth that is improved in color resolution compared to the EGA format.

The resolution capacity of MCGA is relatively low and is only 320 x 200 pixels, which means that the square-shaped pixels are relatively large. The low values of the MCGA representation must be considered against the background that at the time of the development the memory components cost very much and the processing speed of the personal computers( PC) were still too slow for high-resolution graphic file formats.
