multipoint controller (MC)

The Multipoint Controller (MC) is a control unit in H.323 networks, where the Multipoint Controller takes over the simultaneous connection control to several terminals, for example for conference calls. The control can take place after the connection set-up of terminal devices to other terminal devices without interconnection of the Multipoint Controller, but it can also be handled via the Multipoint Controller, which carries out the distribution of the user data to the respective terminal devices.
