national color code (NCC)

The National Color Code (NCC) is used to distinguish GSM networks in different countries where the Broadcast Control Channel ( BCCH) is transmitted on the same frequency. It corresponds to a national naming convention for GSM networks. In Germany, the D1 network is identified with a 3, the D2 network with a 7. The National Color Code and the Base Station Color Code ( BCC) together form the Base Station Identify Code ( BSIC).
