new carrier type (LTE-B) (NCT)

Release 11 of Long Term Evolution Advanced(LTE-A) introduces New CarrierType (NCT), a carrier technology that enables more flexible use of the available frequency bands. This specifically involves band 29, a frequency band for Frequency Division Multiplex( FDD) that only operates in the downlink, not in the uplink. The sense is that this frequency band should be available for Secondary Cell (SCell) with Carrier Aggregation( CA). As a result, subscriber equipment( UE) with earlier releases will not access this frequency band.
