New Fiber refers to optical fibers that are characterized by a high bandwidth length product. These high-purity gradient fibers with bandwidth length products of up to 10 GHz x km at 850 nm are used in Gigabit Ethernet and in 10 Gigabit Ethernet ( 10GbE).
