There are a number of rubber-based insulation materials used for cable insulation. These include silicone rubber( SIR), which has the DIN/VDE designation2G. Furthermore, nitrile rubber (NBR) with the DIN/VDE designation 8G, natural rubber/styrene butadiene( NR/ SBR), which carries the DIN/VDE designation "G" and isobutylene isoprene rubber (JJR) with the DIN/VDE designation 3G.
