optical multiplex section (OMS)

In the Optical Transport Hierarchy ( OTH), the transmission section between two optical multiplexers ( OMUX) is called the Optical Multiplex Section (OMS), comparable to the Multiplex Section ( MS) in the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy ( SDH).

The OMS transmission section is composed of the individual Optical Transmission Sections ( OTS).
