power supply equipment

Power supplies are stand-alone devices or modules that generate constant, load-independent DC or AC voltages. Unlike power supplies, the voltages of power supplies are adjustable and not fixed or system-specific.

Power supplies are used in development, test bay, production and quality test to load DUTs with different supply voltages. Their setting ranges and the available power are selected according to the requirements. The voltage setting can be done manually in small and larger steps, but it can also be programmed.

There are power supplies for DC and AC voltage with voltage values ranging from a few volts up to 1,000 volts and with power ratings ranging from 1 kW and less up to 100 kW and more. Power supplies can be stand-alone units, but also modules for installation in racks and subracks. For the voltage and current display they can have analog instruments or digital displays, in terms of interfaces they can be equipped with RS-232 or the USB interface, their control is characterized by the shortest control times and overvoltages are countered by appropriate protective measures.
