program associated data (DAB) (PAD)
In digital broadcasting and digital audio broadcasting( DAB), program-accompanying data( PAD) and non-program-accompanying data( NPAD) are transmitted in addition to the audio data.
The program-accompanying data are transmitted in the DAB data stream together with the audio data and shown on the displays of the receiving equipment. They are directly related to the music being broadcast and can include the title, the artist, the orchestra, order information, and more. The transmission is done with the Multimedia Object Transfer Protocol( MOT) and ID3 tags.
