puck

Pucks are input aids for positioning on graphics tablets. They get their name because of their flat, usually round design.

The main difference between pucks and mice is the precise positioning aid. For this purpose, pucks have a magnifying glass with a crosshair. For positioning, the crosshairs are moved to the desired position and the function keys are used to capture this position.

They are mainly used when capturing technical drawings and blueprints.
