radio network gateway (RNG)

The Radio NetworkGateway (RNG) is a switching component of the Modacom network. The RNG supports the connection to other host systems and establishes the connection to other fixed networks. The gateway is functionally comparable to the Interworking Unit ( IWU) in GSM networks.
