radio network termination (RNT)

The Radio Network Termination (RNT) forms the termination of a radio network, for example in Wireless Local Loop(WLL).

The external units, i.e. the RF front end with the antenna and the internal units for IF conversion, modulation and demodulation and the components for radio access, are connected to the radio network termination.

The RF front end consists of the mixers and the IF amplifiers as well as an RF power amplifier on the transmit side, and a low- noise amplifier( LNA) on the receive side.
