radio tag

Radio tags are RFID tags that are used as a radio technology alternative to barcodes or 2D codes for marking and identifying goods and services.

Radio tags contain small transponders consisting of a processor, memory, a transmitting and receiving device and an antenna. Compared to classic drawing codes, they have the advantage that they accompany products in logistic systems from production to the end customer and, above all, that they do not have to pass directly by the RFID reader for reading. Moreover, additional information can be stored on radio tags during the logistics process. Depending on the RFID frequency used, the distance between the radio tag and the reader can be one to ten meters.

Radio tags are used in merchandise management for marking goods, pallets and containers, in the logistics chain, in the service and transport industry as radio tickets in ski passes, tickets, admission tickets, for marking livestock in animal identification, of products on conveyor belts and in many other areas.

Radio tags can be used for locating and tracking products, optimizing logistics and controlling production, and can be mass produced in low-cost printed electronics.
