recloser (smart grid)
A recloser or auto-recloser is a device that detects faults occurring in medium- voltage networks and briefly interrupts the power circuit to protect the distribution components from damage.
Reclosers are circuit breakers with automatic reclosure. They normally restore the previous switching state after a short interruption of the power supply, provided that the fault is no longer present.
The interruption of the circuit is done with circuit breakers, circuit breakers. Particularly in the case of overhead lines, whose power transmission can be affected by short-circuits of short duration, reclosers protect distribution components from damage and ensure that power is forwarded as continuously as possible by restoring power transmissionas quickly as possible, thus improving the continuity and quality of power networks.
