remote framebuffer (VNC) (RFB)

Virtual Network Computing(VNC)is a remote protocol in which the graphical screen content is displayed on a local screen. VNC computing uses a relatively simple protocol for transmission, the Remote Framebuffer( RFB), which transfers the graphical user interface of a VNC server to a VNC viewer. The remote station at which the user is working is the RFB viewer or RFB client, and the station at which the changes occur is the RFB server.

Since remote transmission works at the framebuffering level, it can operate on many operating systems such as Windows or Mac OS. The RFB protocol is a thin-client protocol that places few requirements on the RFB client. As a result, clients can be equipped with a wide variety of hardware and are extremely easy to implement.

Virtual Network Computing (VNC) Function

When an RFB client is disconnected from a server and later reconnected to that server, the user interface is preserved. If another client is connected to the same RFB server, the new client will have exactly the same graphical representation as the previous one. This means that the user interface to the application becomes portable. This allows users to access their applications from anywhere and always have the same graphical interface.
