ribbon cable
Ribbon cables are cables consisting of several parallel conductors, also known as ribbon or ribbon cables. In the case of electrical conductors, the preferred designation is ribbon cable; in the case of parallel optical fib ers, the designation ribbon fiber.
Ribbon cables are comparable to flat ribbon cables. They can consist of several conductors lying in parallel, all of which have identical lengths and properties and are surrounded by a common cable sheath. They can be flat or round cables and consist of up to 30 individual conductors. The advantage of ribbon cables is that they are easier and faster to wire.
