ring control (RPR) (RC)

Ring Control(RC) is a 2 bytedata field in the header of the RPR protocol.

Header of the Resilient Packet Ring (RPR).

This data field is the first data field in the RPR header and consists of several subfields in which the transmission modalities are specified. These include the Time-to-Live field( TTL) which is used to determine the lifetime of the data packet, the Ring ID ( RI), the Fairness-Egilible( FE), the Frame Type ( FT), the Service Class( SC), the Wrap Eligible (WE) and the Parity field (P).

The RPR header also has an additional data field for the Extended Ring Control( ERC).
