self extracting (decompression) (SFX)

For compression, the data is compressed using a specific compression algorithm. For decompression, the same algorithm must be used for unpacking the data.

So that each user can decompress the data compressed with a certain code again, there are compression programs which transfer the algorithm in the archive of the compressed file. Such programs are called Self Extracting (SFX).
