service area (mobile communications) (SA)

The Service Area(SA) is the geographical area in which mobile services are available to mobile stations. Within the Service Area, mobile stations can transmit and receive. A service area can consist of one or more mobile radio networks (PLNM) dun extend over a small regional area, but it can also be supraregional and even transnational.
