Shockwave Flash (SWF) is an enhanced Flash format that adds 3D rendering and other features.

Shockwave Flash is a proprietary file format that contains complete Flash productions. Shockwave Flash was introduced by Adobe. It is compiled Flash files that can be embedded in HTML pages and played by web browsers. Like the normal Flash format, SWF files can contain any content.

Shockwave Flash can integrate various graphics, audio, and video formats. For example, vector and raster graphics, the PNG file format and JPEG, audio file formats supported by SWF include the WAV file format and MP3, and video file formats include the AVI file format, Quicktime and MPEG.
