signal processing (SP)

Signal processing(SP) refers to all analog techniques used to generate, amplify, compress, convert, mix and process a signal.

In contrast to digital signal processing( DSP), analog signal processing is limited to audio technology and acoustics and includes components and devices that ensure optimum adaptation of the sound signal to the transmission path and the loudspeakers. These include equalizers, compressors, limiters, expanders, amplifiers and crossovers.
