simple file transfer protocol (SFTP)

The Simple File Transfer Protocol(SFTP) is a transport protocol described in RFC 913 from 1984. The Simple File Transfer Protocol is a simple FTP protocol, but it has functionalities that the Trivial File Transfer Protocol( TFTP) does not have.

For example, the SFTP protocol supports user access, file transfer, directory listing and modification, and file renaming and deletion. The Simple File Transfer Protocol uses port number 115 and relies on a TCP connection to a remote host. Communication takes place via appropriate SFTP commands, each consisting of four letters followed by a space, the argument, and a NULL tag. Example: : =[ ] .
