single-user MIMO (SU-MIMO)

Single User MIMO(SU-MIMO) is the classic MIMO technology (Multiple Input Multiple Output) in which one and the same frame is transmitted simultaneously via multiple spatial streams( SS) to a single destination address or a single WLAN client.

With Single User MIMO, only a single channel is supported at any one time. This classic MIMO technique is used in various WLANs according to 802.11, while the one with spatial streams is used in 802.11n.

While Single-User MIMO supports only one channel at a time, the Multi-User MU-MIMO technique supports multiple frames with different destination addresses at the same time, which can be transmitted to multiple individual WLAN clients simultaneously.
