snooping

Snooping is the unauthorized access to data of individuals, institutions and companies. In snooping, the attacker gains access during transmission.

Simple snooping refers to spying on communication services, eavesdropping on a connection, chat or Internet telephony. In simple snooping, the attacker observes the input of an email or the display on the screen. For deeper sooping, the attacker uses robots to spy on activity remotely.

The goal of snooping is to gain possession of sensitive data such as passwords or other authentication credentials. To realize these goals, attackers use snoopware, which is a malware that can be used to monitor the activities on a smartphone.
