status bar
In graphical user interfaces( GUI), the program status is displayed in a special bar, which is located below the input area in most programs.
The permanently present status bar contains status messages about the program, about the memory space, the number of files, in text programs the number of pages, the current page, the beginning of the text and much more, but also instructions as operating help.
Like the toolbar, the status bar can be shown and hidden in many user programs.
