steady state response (SSR)
- The term Steady State Response(SSR) is used in connection with signal behavior. In general, all electronic circuits have a certain transient response due to the presence of reactance and filters. If a sinusoidal signal is applied to an electronic circuit, it takes time for the level of the sinusoidal oscillation to settle to the actual level after a strong overshoot. This steady state level is the Steady State, the behavior towards this state is the Steady State Response.
- Steady state response is also the term used for an acoustic measurement method in which the sound pressure is measured after a certain settling time for a defined measurement period.
