steady state response (SSR)

  1. The term Steady State Response(SSR) is used in connection with signal behavior. In general, all electronic circuits have a certain transient response due to the presence of reactance and filters. If a sinusoidal signal is applied to an electronic circuit, it takes time for the level of the sinusoidal oscillation to settle to the actual level after a strong overshoot. This steady state level is the Steady State, the behavior towards this state is the Steady State Response.
  2. Steady state response is also the term used for an acoustic measurement method in which the sound pressure is measured after a certain settling time for a defined measurement period.
