Streaming banner is a banner format that is capable of playing an advertising video, audio streams or other animations on a web page. Mostly, the buffer function is used over the cache to enable a delay-free playback.

Streaming banners generate high attention because of the multimedia content, but require high download capacities. In the case of short feeds in the form of pop-up banners, these are also referred to as streaming pop-ups.

Streaming banners can be produced in all banner formats, from standard banners to skyscrapers. In them, information can be combined with videos, audio, news, movies and flash formats.
