Super VGA (SVGA) is an improved VGA format with higher resolution than the Video Graphics Array (VGA).
SVGA has a resolution of 800 horizontal and 600 vertical pixels with a color depth of 16 bits, corresponding to 65,000 colors. The image resolution corresponds to a pixel count of 480,000 pixels. The aspect ratio is 4:3.
The SVGA format represented a significant improvement over the VGA format with a screen resolution of 640 x 480 pixels and a displayable color depth of 4 bits, or 16 colors.
