template attribute language (TAL)

The TemplateAttribute Language (TAL) is an XHTML-based template language that can be used to dynamically augment templates with data from external applications.

The TAL syntax can separate program code from data, and TAL page templates must be in XHTML. To avoid mixing program code and templates, the TAL syntax provides only a few commands. For example, those for dynamically replacing content, programming loops, and error handling.
