terminal portability (ISDN) (TP)

Terminalportability(TP) is a feature ofISDN that allows terminal devices to be replugged on the multi-device line in the active state. During an existing connection, an ISDN terminal can be replugged from one subscriber terminal( TA) to another, while retaining the service in use. The prerequisite is the prior activation of the park function.

The service feature Terminal Portability is supported by ISDN in that it informs the remote subscriber with a "Suspend" when the terminal is replugged. When the terminal is plugged in again, the subscriber is informed with a "Notify".
