transfer point

The handover point is the interface between the broadband cable network or the cable distribution network and the home network. This handover point can refer to a building or an apartment and represents the physical separation between the network infrastructure of the distribution network and the infrastructure of the subscriber area.

In physical terms, it is the impedance and level adjustment of the home network to the broadband network. Distribution within the building starts at the handover point. The handover point can contain technical equipment to separate the services and provide a separate feed to the apartments according to services or service groups. Furthermore, the handover point, which can be controlled from the management system, can prevent interference from the subscriber into the cable distribution network by disconnecting subscribers.
