Typography is the representation of a typeface; it evolved from the craft of printing.

Typography is about the design of texts. This is determined by the typeface, determined by the arrangement of the individual type components, the fonts, the font size, the font alignment, the line spacing, the text design, the typesetting format, etc. etc.. Typography intervenes wherever texts are paginated. Electronic typesetting by means of desktop publishing( DTP) starts with the design of notes and letters, it continues with the typesetting of brochures, the pagination of books and ends with magazine and newspaper typesetting.

In terms of multimedia technology, these factors have the same significance for the presentation or design of web pages.
