ultra extended graphics adapter (UXGA)
The Ultra Extended Graphics Adapter (UXGA) is characterized by a screen resolution of 1,600 x 1,200 pixels, with an aspect ratio of 4:3. A UXGA display consists of 1,920,000 pixels. The color representation has a color depth of 16 bits, which corresponds to High Color with 65,536 colors and a horizontal frequency of up to 75 kHz.
The UXGA format is available in many variants and as widescreen. Thus as Hexadecatuple UXGA( HUXGA), as Quadruple UXGA( QUXGA), as Super UXGA( SUXGA), as well as in the wide screen versions Wide UXGA ( WUXGA), Wide QUXGA ( WQUXGA), Quadruple WUXGA ( QWUXGA) and Wide Hexadecatuple UXGA( WHUXGA).
UXGA screens are used in the CAD sector, in graphics applications, in the photographic sector and in large screens with resolutions of 7,680 x 4,800 (WHUXGA) pixels.
