ultra large scale integration (IC) (ULSI)
Ultra Large Scale Integration (ULSI) is a specification of the integration density ofchips.
Integrated circuits( IC) in ULSI technology have between one hundred thousand (`10^5`) and one million (`10^6`) transistors. ULSI technology was realized in the mid-1980s and operates with a structure width of 1.5 µm.
The predecessor technology of ULSI is Very Large Scale Integration( VLSI), the successor technology is Super Large Scale Integration( SLSI).
