The screen diagonals of UMPC displays range from 7" to 10". They use miniature hard drives for memory. They can communicate wirelessly via WLANs and/or Bluetooth and can be equipped with cameras and speakers. UMPCs are battery-powered and their weight is less than 1 kg.

UMPCs have something of notebooks, PDAs and multimedia players and are suitable as ultra-mobile webpads and game consoles. They can be expanded with additional components for GPS system or handwriting recognition( HCR). Such a UMPC is not only suitable for mobile home applications, but is also of interest for use in vehicles. For example, for navigation or for entertaining passengers.
