unified glare rating (UGR)

In lighting technology, glare is a disturbing light effect that occurs due to light sources and light reflections on walls, floors, furniture and objects. The incident disturbing light impairs the visual impression of scenes and the illumination of halls, workplaces, shop windows and rooms. To evaluate glare, the Commission Internationale d`Eclairage( CIE) has developed the Unified Glare Rating (UGR).
