universal personal number (IN) (UPN)

A universal personalnumber(UPN) is a special telephone number that subscribers can select from the Federal Network Agency(BNetzA) for a fee and that is valid for all networks and services.

The subscriber can be reached under the personal number via fixed networks or mobile networks, regardless of location and provider. It is personal and cannot be passed on to third parties.

The personal call number is an eight- digit number under the service code 0700. The subscriber can select his or her personal call number so that it can be used as a vanity number with his or her name. An up-to-date list of personal telephone numbers can be found on the website of the Federal Network Agency.
