Vertex points are the boundary points of polygons or three-dimensional bodies. They are uniquely defined by their XY or XYZ coordinates.

For a three-dimensional solid, for example a cube, the eight vertices with their connecting lines form the outer edges of the cube. To make a three-dimensional object look realistic, texture mapping is used to apply textures to the individual polygons.
