visual basic for applications (Microsoft) (VBA)
Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is a simplified variant of Visual Basic(VB), which Microsoft developed as a uniform macro language for its own Office programs. Thus, VBA is a component of various application programs such as Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint. Other software vendors also use VBA in their products.
The user can program different applications with the object-oriented Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and adapt the application programs to his requirements. Examples of the possible uses of VBA include a customized screen display for database applications or the automatic formatting ofspreadsheets.
The further development of VBA has its own programming core of Visual Basic (VB) and can therefore be used in a wide variety of applications.
