wireless multimedia enhancement (WME)

The WME specifications (Wireless Multimedia Enhancement) are industry specifications with which uniform implementations of the Enhanced Distributed Coordination Function (EDCF) in WLANs can be carried out until 802.11e is adopted. They belong to the management level of the protocol stack ofIEEE 802.11p.
