wireless roadside inspection (WRI)

Wireless Roadside Inspection Systems (WRI) are monitoring systems that can be used to monitor the safety of trucks and buses while they are on the road. WRI systems are a complement to Intelligent Roadside Stations ( IRS) and collect data transmitted by radio from motor vehicles. This is data about the vehicle and the driver, which is collected in the on- board unit. The WRI systems allow faster and more frequent checks.
