DECT multimedia access profile (DMAP)

DECTMultimedia Access Profile (DMAP) is an extension of the DECT standard to multimedia. The transmission rate is between 32 kbit/s and 2 Mbit/s, depending on the application type.

There are 24 channels available for the transmission of voice and data, with real-time data being transmitted via separate channels. DMAP has a range of approximately 50 m to 300 m and is suitable for in-house applications such as HomeRF and Bluetooth.

With DMAP, which has been standardized by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute( ETSI), a wide variety of multimedia devices can communicate wirelessly with each other if they support the DECT standard and are equipped with appropriate adapters.
