IP 67 push pull interface (IP67)

IP67 is a defined protection class( IP) for connectors. This protection class is derived from the protection class classification ofISO/ IEC(IEC 60529) or according to DIN 40050 and states that a connector is protected dust-tight and water-tight when mated and assembled. The number 6 of IP67 indicates that the connector is dust-tight, and the number 7 states that the connector can be temporarily submerged in water.

IP67 has opened up industrial use for Ethernet because the corresponding Ethernet connection components meet the mechanical stresses to which Ethernet is exposed in industrial environments. This includes the cable connectors and wall outlets with their housings, which must comply with special protection classes in order to be able to handle voltage peaks that occur due to the switching of production equipment.
