IT as a service (ITaaS)

Information Technology as a Service (ITaaS) is a conceptual approach that involves the delivery of customized IT services. These can be provided from corporate data centers or service providers, they can be obtained from a cloud service provider or otherwise. The ITaaS concept is based on Infrastructure as a Service( IaaS), Platform as a Service( PaaS) and Software as a Service( SaaS).

Companies can run ITaaS as a standalone profit center, offering the services and competing with other providers. Optionally, companies can source their services from outsourcing companies or cloud service providers.

With ITaaS, the customer uses the exact hardware, software, and support that they ordered and pay for and that is required to generate, store, and use the business data. As a result, the ITaaS customer has only a small investment, a known cost burden and a completely transparent cost situation. He can monitor the IT services and scale them via the provider. The provider also ensures constant updating of the software and hardware through guaranteed updates.
