US digital cellular (mobile communications) (USDC)
USDigital Cellular (USDC) is a digital mobile communications network operated in the USA.
The USDC network was intended to replace the Advanced Mobile Phone System( AMPS) primarily in rural areas, since AMPS does not provide sufficient channel capacity in these areas. The USDC concept allows coexistence with AMPS. USDC uses Time Division Multiple Access( TDMA) with 25 kHz wide radio channels over which voice and paging can be transmitted in two different time slots.
