VS code
The VS code is a 2D code for marking goods and services. It was developed by Veritec, is patented and has a rectangular format unlike other 2D codes such as the QR code, the Vericode and the Data Matrix code. The data capacity is 4,150 bytes in 192 x 192 cells, the highest of any 2D code.
The VS code can be customized so that it cannot be decoded by other users. This means that this code can also be used in security-relevant applications. The VS code has with the EDAC code, Error Detection And Correction, an error detection and correction with which also strongly damaged code labels can be read. While the error correction rate for other matrix codes is around 30%, for the VS code it can be set between 0% and 99% on a user-specific basis.
