advanced mobile telephone system (AMTS)

The Advanced Mobile Telephone System (AMTS) was one of two first-generation Japanese mobile telephone systems. The second system was called High Capacity Mobile Telephone System (HCMTS). Both systems operated in the 900 MHz range.
