consolidation point (wiring) (CP)

Consolidation points(CP) are collection points; they are stationary cable distributors(KV) in the floor cabling. Such collection points are small intermediate distributors, which are often used in office cabling and form core elements of cabling systems.

Cable distributors serve as collection points of connection to the subscriber lines( TA). They are designed as an additional plug-in connection between the patch panel and the junction box and offer the administrator flexible management of the tertiary cabling.

Several junction boxes are connected to a consolidation point, which can be located in suspended ceilings or raised floors. A maximum of up to twelve workgroups can be supplied via one consolidation point.
